The ACLU announced on January 16 that actress Busy Philipps is its new “Artist Ambassador for Reproductive Freedom.”
Philipps is known for her roles in “Dawson’s Creek,” “Freaks and Geeks,” and “ER,” but in recent years she has become an outspoken advocate of abortion. In 2019, her autobiography revealed that she had an abortion at age 15. In 2020, she spoke at a pro-abortion rally, screaming that because she was able to kill her preborn child, she had a successful career and now has a “beautiful life.”
“I have all of this… all of it… because, because, because I was allowed bodily autonomy at 15!” she screamed.
In recent years, she has also campaigned for abortion on demand, including for minors, and appeared in a propaganda video for Texas abortion business Whole Woman’s Health, an abortion chain with a troubled history of failing health inspections.
“We are thrilled to formalize Busy’s role as an ACLU Artist Ambassador after years of Busy’s tireless advocacy fighting for abortion access for all,” said Jessica Herman Weitz, director of artist & entertainment engagement nationwide at the ACLU. “At this critical moment for abortion rights and our democracy, we look forward to working with Busy to ensure we the people hold the power over our own bodies in our country — not politicians.”
In a statement, Philipps said, “I’m honored to be able to use my microphone to share the importance of being able to access reproductive healthcare and advocating alongside the ACLU to protect and expand access to essential care.”
While organizations like the ACLU often push the lie that abortion is healthcare, it isn’t caring — it’s a brutal procedure that results in the death of a human being through starvation, dismemberment, or poison. Likewise, it isn’t essential — even in cases where a mother’s life is at risk, surgical procedures that may result in the preterm delivery of the child are not abortions.
As an ambassador for the ACLU, Philipps and her message perpetuates the lie that women cannot be successful without abortion. Pregnant mothers need to be supported at all stages, not told that they need to kill their children in order to succeed.
I’ve heard her name and seen a few magazine covers. Other than that I know nothing about her except now she is an ambassador for evil.
