Boy did we dodge a bullet in 2012. And the alternative wasn't any better, but at least there was some pretense of opposition due to party politics.

This highlights why one shouldn’t settle. If Romney had wone in 2012 the best possible future outcome would have been eight years of Romney. We ended up with four years of Obama and four years of Trump.
