Lack of food causes a panic in this country, in Russia it’s known as Monday. Or Tuesday. Or…. They’re used to it.

To be honest, they aren't 'used to it' anymore, as typically (for the last 15-20 years or so) Russian grocery stores are overflowing with produce.

Their advantage is that because of the cultural memory of 'lack of' from the past, people don't panic when these minor pinches do happen. It's more like 'Ehh, we will be ok without eggs for a while, they will be back'.
