Why is it always eggs that are the problem?
There was a cartoon back during the pandemic that showed a guy proposing to a woman with a dozen eggs.
Chickens aren’t that hard to raise unless there’s a bad case of bird flu.
Ivan isn’t yolking around. It’s a shell game.
I recommend the book “City of Thieves”. It is a 2008 historical fiction novel by David Benioff. It is, in part, a coming of age story set in the World War II siege of Leningrad. It follows the adventures of two youths as they desperately search for a dozen eggs at the behest of a Soviet NKVD officer for a birthday gift, a task that takes them far behind enemy lines.
Wars are expensive, which I’m sure the Russian people are discovering.
When it comes to food prices, Russia isn’t experiencing a problem that’s ANY DIFFERENT from what we’re facing here.
Crowing about Ruskie poultry AGAIN?!? It’s got to be at least your tenth chicken$hit post about this absolutely meaningless subject. I wish things were going so well here that our biggest concern is our egg prices going back where they were last year. Cucumbers man! What about the Ruskie cucumber crisis? You haven’t given us your Russian cucumber farm report in at least two weeks. Keep up your reporting on this eggstential threat to Ruskie society.
Vlad isn’t the most hard boiled in Russia.
I wouldn't mind buying eggs for $2.76/dozen, compared to $3.99/dozen at Safeway a couple days ago. Of course, I'd rather pay less than $1, as was the usual price not that long ago.
Lack of food causes a panic in this country, in Russia it’s known as Monday. Or Tuesday. Or…. They’re used to it.
I would hope you earn more than the typical Russia worker or pensioner.
Another egg shortage in Russia? Maybe a prior shortage is what inspired the first Fabrege Eggs. The iconic ones, all adorned in gold designs and precious jewels.
“Wars are expensive, which I’m sure the Russian people are discovering.”
Indeed. putin prioritizes himself, not russia, and definitely not the russian people.
But he’s fried. This won’t go over easy.

I probably do, but who knows for how long.
It is causing a lot of poaching because of the shortage.
The only way out for China and Russia is Capitalism.
Thanks. I can't wait to get my hands on this book!
