As they were boarding it in rough seas, around 8 p.m. local time, one SEAL got knocked off by high waves and a teammate went in after him. Both are missing.
The team boarding the small boat was facing about a dozen crew members. The crew members, who were taken into custody, had no paperwork, which allowed a search of the vessel. The weapons were confiscated, and the boat was sunk, a routine procedure that usually involves blowing open holes in the hull.

If the the crew of this weapons smuggling pirate ship had presented some plausible looking documentation, they wouldn't have been allowed to search the ship ?
How can any military operation be successful under these rules of engagement?
The story just sounds weird on multiple levels.
And, no — I am not a conspiracy theorist by nature.
The story just sounds weird on multiple levels....
yea, doesnt add up.
Well, I can see where you might make that interpretation, however, I believe the correct interpretation is that without paperwork, they were allowed to inspect the ship without permission.
Full disclosure, I haven't read the entire article to see if it goes into more depth as to what might transpire if it had presented documentation.
If the article does go into more detail and having documentation precludes boarding, then it becomes a question of what International Law states on the matter, because ignoring documentation is a double-edged sword, or one would assume it to be. In our waters, I think it is perfectly legal for the Coast Guard to search a vessel without permission.
My thinking was the Houthi’s got a few blows in before we got control of their boat. But losing them in the Ukraine attack which nearly killed Secretary Austin is certainly a possibility also.
In any case, I’m with you, the only thing we can be sure is that their cover story is bogus.
Yes.
Most SEAL missions are secret. Unless @sshole politicians want to take credit for their success.
In this case, in order to do a big search and rescue they had make public what to search for.
it could be that this is a cover for some sort of SEAL deaths in an undisclosed mission. And they do “lost at sea, bodies not recovered in the Aden Gulf” as a cover.
What amazes me. even understanding how the Regime uses Anarchy-tyranny, is how the FBI kills wheel-chair bound pensioners in no-knock raids, but in the Gulf of Aden, Houthi pirate ships smuggling weapons get their Miranda rights.
Iran just fired missiles at our Embassy in Iraq. This per the NYPrepper on YouTube.
One for me, is that it wasn't cold water, according to the article, and Navy Seals are kind of like human aquatic beings themselves since they practice regularly in the water.
Is that one of the issues you find to be weird? I can see one, but two Navy Seals going missing really makes it even more weird indeed.
Operation Prosperity Guardian going as planned !
Yes. Two SEALs drowning is very odd in standard ocean conditions.
I think the story is a lie, or vital information is being left out.
I agree. This is a cover story for deaths in an unauthorized location.
We’ll never know.
Regardless of what actually happened, most aren’t buying what’s being sold.
True.
The report does state one SEAL got knocked off by high waves and a teammate went in after him. But it still sounds off for sure.
There’s no info about other USN personnel onboard.
12 pirates were onboard, so they clearly weren’t left alone.
They said they searched the ship, confiscated the cargo & sank the ship. Did it not?
Yes, meaning all were on the Navy boat. At minimum 14 people, but I would certainly expect more USN personnel.
I’m just saying we have heard nothing from them about what happened, nor how many of them there were.
Does not make sense.
