Two Navy Seals are missing after falling into the water off the coast of Somalia while trying to board a vessel in the nighttime, officials said.
The two Seals, whose names were not publicly released, were climbing up a vessel in the Gulf of Aden when they got knocked off by waves.
Under their protocol, when one SEAL is overtaken, the next jumps in after them.
The men were on an interdiction mission โ where members intercept weapons on ships that are bound for Houthi-controlled Yemen โ when the waves overtook them, the officials said, according to reports.
The officials, who would only speak anonymously, would not detail the mission the missing Seals were on, but said it was not a part of Operation Prosperity Guardian,

Global warming again.
RIP.
Prayers up for two good men
Prayers for miracles and their souls as they aren’t likely in the arms of our Lord God now.
Wonder if they were in a secret mission and this is the cover story.

...not yet...
Can you imagine being a parent, wife, or child of one of those boys/men?
You ask the question. You gave your life for exactly "WHAT?" A third-world, rag-tag group of terrorists?
RIP.
Your so-called leaders have this cross to bear!
By God I don’t know why we don’t make an example of Yemen. This invalid president will never do it, but if you simply erased this garbage country’s existence, shipping lanes would reopen immediately and the rest of the world would pay notice.
As a sister of a special forces guy who spent time over there why don’t you take a long hike off a short pier.
The reason Yemen and other shitholes in that region are important are their positions relative to key waterways.
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
We can’t believe the government. All we know is to pray.

I just checked. Current water temperature in the Gulf is 78F. These are some of the best trained men in the world. I assume they are kitted up with some limited survival gear and probably have some flotation.
If anyone can survive, they can.
They should have never made this public. These guys operate under the radar and this just exposes them and to what they are doing, which is supposed to be classified. Whoever in the regime allowed this to be reported has an anti-military agenda.
One of the greatest dilemmas in combat is deciding to save a fellow soldier or continue a mission. We are taught to never leave a soldier, sailor,or Marine behind. We have swim buddy and battle buddies. The first reaction is always to save a fellow soldier. The question is did this SEAL compromise the mission as two SEALs are out of action and the team is two men down or was the right thing to dive into the ocean? I know this question is brought up in Special Forces selection from books I read. Obviously, once a mission changes such as losing men,the mission changes dramatically. Thank God I never had this dilemma but I know I would instinctively jumped into that ocean.
