First It Was Eggs. Now Exploding Hot-Water Pipes. The Domestic Headaches Overshadowing Putin's Reelection Messaging

In Siberia's Novosibirsk, Russia's third-largest city, a major hot-water main burst, sending cascades of steaming water rushing through frozen streets and cutting off heating to scores of buildings -- and thousands of people -- amid Arctic temperatures.

In the Pacific port of Vladivostok, some 3,000 people were left in the bitter cold after an above-ground heating pipeline ruptured, spewing similar volumes of steaming water.

And nine hours to the west, in a string of Moscow suburbs, more than 150,000 people shivered -- and complained vociferously -- when another municipal heating pipe broke down, with engineers rushing to dig up the frozen ground.

Since January 1, amid a two-week period spanning various holidays, a growing number of towns and cities have reported major problems with heat and hot water.

Russia's winters are cold. This is not news. Russia's municipal infrastructure, much of which is Soviet-era and sporadically maintained, is aging. This is not news.

-snip-

A much-reviled legacy of Soviet central planning, heating and hot water are provided to the vast majority of Russian residences around the nation from municipal heating plants through a network of pipes that frequently rupture and need constant repair.

On January 9, after days of mounting complaints in the Moscow region district of Podolsk and videos of ice-encrusted radiators and gas cooking stoves turned on full blast circulating on social media, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke out, blaming "anomalous" cold for the exploding pipes, but also pointed to the aging infrastructure.

"Of course, despite titanic efforts to update all housing and communal-services systems, some of them remain in a rather dilapidated state," Peskov said in a conference call with reporters. "These programs will continue. But it is impossible to update all pipes and all housing and communal services systems in 10 or 15 years."

Two days ago 1/4 mile up the road from me a water pipe burst and left everyone on the line without water. It was barely freezing in the few hours prior. Why didn’t this make the international propaganda networks? You tools really should give US poor Alabamans some recognition.

Ukrainian propaganda you say?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So according to your ways of thinking... every time there is good news about Russia, you call that “information”.

But every time it’s bad news about Russia, you call that “Ukrainian propaganda”.

C’mon, try to be a bit fairplay.

Here is the problem with Russia:

It’s run by deep-state swamp-creatures yearning for permanent war and Lebensraum. 41% of Russia’s budget is now oriented towards a war-economy - while a minority of peace-doves in America are sleepwalking themselves to a slow death...

Everyone sees this, whether we are conservative-patriots or regular-conservatives. Even the usual hippie “peace-at-all-costs” liberals understand that Russia has become the warmongering-in-chief nation of the planet.
Unhindered, Russia will just continue to attack our allies.

Proof? Look what happened with Israel!
Russia’s number one allies in the region: Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah are now attacking Israel. Do you think that is a coincidence? Of course not. It’s an old fashioned deflection tactic Russia secretly ordered Iran to foment in order to alleviate the pressure on suffering Russian troops on the frontlines in Ukraine. That’s it. Good old tactics.

It’s all about DEFLECTION and ALLEVIATION and that move actually worked quite well... taking some resources away from defending ukrainian troops as they are temporarily given to Israel instead.

The brutal illegal invasions and annexations by Russia of Ukrainian, Georgian, Moldavian territories is a bloody fact.

It is not Ukrainian propaganda that 400.000 troops are invading Ukraine as we speak. Right?

Also, the fact that civil-society in Russia is starting to crumble and becoming dysfunctional :

You are talking about an ephemeral event in Alabama. That’s why its not on international media.
What is happening in Russia is on a whole different scale. The heating-dysfunction and freezing issues are hitting taxpaying Russian citizens all over Russia - in a sign of national dysfucntion of civil infrastructure. It’s a nationwide Russian problem!

Imagine if America decided to copycat Russia and orient 41% (!) of its national budget solely on a war-of-invasion-economy! What would happen do you think? Evidently America’s civil society would start to seriously dysfunction too. Right?
