Thanks to daniel1212 for the ping!
Sorry, that's a typo. It boots from stone cold to ready to type in less than 30 seconds.
I thought you would be interested.
one of these days, microsoft will automatically install a broken bitlocker “security” update that permanently locks out everyone stupid enough to use bitlocker technology on their system drive and that’ll be all she wrote ...
I’m still using Win-7 Pro x64. It’s still great and working smoothly, and very well guarded by Norton360 Premium, Norton Utilities, MalwareBytes Premium and CCleaner Premium.
Personally, I think that if it requires FOUR "Premium" protection suites, it's not all that great. :)
Windows 7 desktop.....
Are all over ebay. Cheap. $250 or less. From reputable sellers. Get one with 16gb ram and an SSD (drive) You can find them at Amazonk too.
Paired with a 24 or 27 inch monitor. That’s what I mostly use but running windoze 11
That's the key. You're using proven methods to guard your computer, and that's something not a lot of Windows 7 users do, and why most migrated to the horrible Windows 10.
Now don't get me wrong here, I know a lot of folks never had a choice, and those who have Windows 10 make it work, but for those of us who don't want MicroThief controlling our PCs and want to control it ourselves, well, we still prefer Windows 7.
Heck, if I could still use Windows XP I would!
Well said.
I liked XP, too, and along with 7, they were the two best OS they’d unleashed on us.
I’d run those same 4 programs, with any OS on the machine.
I have had good luck with Amazon when buying refurbished Windows 7 systems.
Bought a used Dell desktop in January 2014 and it’s still kicking ass.
Bought a used Dell laptop in January 2018, and it’s still going strong.
It’s good to know there are several options out there.
I have bought from the Dell Refurnished site. Zero problems. All my computer and related purchases have been OK. All except Acer monitors. Three failed on me. I will never again buy anything Acer.
My sister and husband bought an HP 27” all in one computer last Christmas. Right from the HP store site. It was $700. Today I see they are $1000. But I like them.
Here is something you might like. Very compact. Just needs a monitor/ Many companies make these>>>>>

Totally agree. I even experimented with the 64 bit XP for a while there too.
That one is Windows 11. I’m looking for 7. I do like the size of that one.
Thanks for all that. I’m definitely an Open Shell fan,
Among other free helps. And the developer of https://ramensoftware.com/7-taskbar-tweaker/comment-page-54#comment-14827 was helpful to me in dealing with a unique issue. May God be blessed, and bless those who help.
If it ain't broke...
But I just upgrade to more RAM, and now my wired Internet drops out, though wireless is fine. thank God.
Windows 10 Pro installed on 2-2-2023
I just used the free MiniTool Partition Wizard 12.8 and it shows:
System Reserved 50MB <— 50
C: 1862.96MB (my 2tb samsung 870 ssd)
No Windows Recovery Partition is seen. I guess it is created on the fly and it may not be big enough. I will not do all the steps described in the article. MiniTool Partition Wizard can resize partitions with no loss of data. The Microsoft way is too clumsy.
I guess if I tried to do an update then I would get that error.
I do not have a TPM chip so this bitlocker update may not happen.
C: 1862.96MB (my 2tb samsung 870 ssd)
1862.96MB remaining out of 2,000GB means that your SSD is over 99% full. Are you sure you don’t mean 1862.96GB?
My ‘C’ drive is 78% full.
