Getting humans through that high radiation zone without cooking them is also going to be a toughie.
NASA is too risk averse. I have predicted for at least a year that Artemis will never land on the moon. The project is an utter disaster.
Guess ‘dei’ got in the way.
They'll just do what Apollo did: adjust the trajectory of the vehicle's path to and from the moon so that it goes over or under the plane of the Van Allen Belts.
Your thinking is very…
…two dimensional.
Send the muzzies before you risk humans. Like they did with dogs and chimps for Apollo.
I was thinking the same thing.
Skin color and boobs are not how to choose the best crew for the mission, and putting superficial crap like that ahead of performance is begging for delays as we skip over people who already have the right skills in order to wait for “skin and boobs” to practice and train until they can just squeak by, or worse. Can almost smell the smoke of the next PC disaster from here.
IIRC, the officially described trajectories of the Apollo missions all included at least a brief Van Allen belt intersection/transit.
This Guy would take that bet as well.
Using whatever currency he had on hand at the time.
I will not give you crap.
I haven’t said the pledge for three and a half years.
Anyone backing this shit has been hanging from the government tit all their life.
Targeting SpaceX and SpaceX’s Boca Chic launch site by 4 federal Agencies has set the test-to-failure program back several years. But that’s OK, since Bezos’ Blue Horizon may be ready to take over the contract when SpaceX’s StarShip cannot deliver.
His Starship has failed twice. Cannot get passed the Firmament. That is the main reason for the delay. It is one big Grift and too many are ok with being robbed to fulfill a fantasy.
Exactly!
The Biden Admin is targeting the hated Musk to fail. NLRB, Fish & Game, FAA and EPA are all doing their level best to bankrupt the Star Ship program. They have already set the program back a year and maybe two, so far.
Starship should be tested every 3 months or less, but in 2023 it only saw two launches. 2022 saw only one.
Starship HLS is way behind schedule
—
Because the NRLB, Fish & Game, FAA and the EPA are doing their level best to keep it that way. Meanwhile, Biden buddy Bezos is slowly progressing
as all the drawings were on paper vellum and were discarded
—
As were filling cabinets of Apollo photos and tapes
Most have been demoralized since the cancellation of Apollo in 1971, or even further back, with the cancellation of Project Orion in 1964.
Getting humans through that high radiation zone
—
its electromagnetic energy, not gamma rays!! For crying out loud.
His Starship has failed twice.
—
No it has not. Its a Test To Failure program. Not a one shot fixes all things like NASA does.
I think you’re right. NASA is a hole that politicians throw money into.
Gamma rays ARE electro-magnetic energy!
