World-leading indie travel news source Travel Off Path has listed Vietnam as the safest country to visit in Asia for 2024.

According to Travel Off Path, one of North America's largest travel news websites, safety is a primary concern for Americans traveling abroad, especially amid the current climate where conflicts are breaking out internationally and security is decreasing across a number of destinations.

Over the last few years, Asia has been no exception, but Vietnam has proven to be remarkably stable and safe for tourists, said the website.

It cited the latest Global Law and Order Index indicating Vietnam is not only the most peaceful state in Asia, but also the seventh worldwide.

Anything they do would be an improvement.

And they also like Americans there, especially in the South. I travel to VN often on business.

The country has developed and advanced so much since I first travelled there in the 1990s. Its a marvel.

Saigon is chaotic, but the central highlands have really nice weather and a slower pace of life. Hanoi is busy but a bit more sophisticated.

Just repeating what was said.

I had a phone stolen five years ago, so I do sort of question this, but other than phones, it is pretty safe here.

Just repeating what what was said. Besides even in Japan, it is still entirely possible to get into trouble …

Not a traveller so my opinion means little, but I would vote for Singapore. If you attend a Catholic Church in Vietnam, you are at risk of it being violently torn down, but I guess that doesn’t count as crime since that is done with government support.

That is very true.

I have in what, seven years here, encountered exactly five people here who made me nervous. That is it.

Vietnamese are VERY pro-American. Though things do get stolen, with some regularity.

But lots of people here are very, very pro-American.

Our daughters took mass transit to school in Hong Kong by themselves when they were 8 or 9. It is also very safe.

I suspect my dad would beg to differ, but times have changed. My best friend married a Vietnamese woman and he loves it there.

I would expect Japan and Singapore to be the top 2 safest in the world.

The article is based on Gallup’s Law and Order Index, which uses four questions to gauge people’s sense of personal security and their personal experiences with crime and law enforcement.
1) In the city or area where you live, do you have confidence in the local police force?
2) Do you feel safe walking alone at night in the city or area where you live?
3) Within the last 12 months, have you had money or property stolen from you or another household member?
4) Within the past 12 months, have you been assaulted or mugged?

In part they are safer because of a severe Islam deficiency. I’m sure the UN would like to provide a cure.

lol. And to think that we lost 58,220 fighting a war over there, and now we do commerce with them and it’s a tourist destination. What a waste that war was.

LOL. Charlie is retired now and has taken over as the Chief of the Navajo tribe while running the Navajo tribe’s space program in his spare time. The moon is now Navajo “sacred ground”.

We didn’t know about their hatred for the Chicoms until 4 years later when they fought. Think BLM and how they manipulate their followers after George Floyd of whom was a waste human skin. We have the same thing here. Think WMD.
