I have said before I would but an electric car when:

1. There are charging ports at every gas station.
2. There is a lifetime free battery replacement program.
3. There are built in fire suppression systems.
4. It all costs under $60K.

IOW, I won’t be buying one.

I wonder how the misguided people who bought a new one can get any value out of it when it is time to trade it in.

I wouldn’t buy a new one but who would buy a used one? No one I think.
