“Getting clever he put the perfectly fine V10 drivetrain from the Viper into the perfectly fine chassis of the Tesla.”

I would love to see how they shoe-horned a Viper engine into a Tesla anything. Someone was going to put one into a Dodge Durango SUV, but would have had to lengthen the frame to make room.

Years ago, My wife and I purchased a 1941 Cadillac “restomod”... It was the most beautiful car inside and out that we ever owned. The body and interior came from a 1941 Cadillac, but it sat on the chassis of a 1977 Cadillac Eldorado and had the engine, transmission, and running gear from the Eldorado. We called it the “Eldo-Cad”.

Where there is a will there is a way, but those who are not familiar with these types of modifications have no clue how difficult this kind of project actually is. The person who had done the work on Eldo-Cad had died. He had been a very experienced vintage car restorer. He had left all of his notes and the difficulties he went through were almost insurmountable. The frame had been cut in three different places to make it fit.

Putting the V10 drivetrain from the Viper into the chassis of a Tesla would likely be far more difficult. The chassis of a Tesla was never designed to carry the power from a powerful engine to the rear wheels It no doubt would have to be nearly completely redesigned.

I would note that Dodge Durangos had full frames only until 2011, since then they have had “carlike unibody construction”.
