Well, it pays to be a jobber, to get your nuts knocked in.

Today I learned that a jobber is someone paid to “lose” wrestling matches.
I mean I knew that there were guys who did that, I just didn’t know what to call them.
Sort of like the Washington Generals I guess.

Pays very well if you are good enough to make the stars look good, no matter how incompetent they may be.

I guess there's jobbers in politics, too...
They are called RINOs, like Mitch McConnell... 🤓

It's an incredible feat to not only stay fit enough to put over the popular wrestlers (many of whom are less talented and professional) while on call 24-7; but to resist
winning matches when the script demands them lose takes massive self-discipline to enhance the "glory" of many less-deserving people...for far less money than the starring attractions rake in.
Despite that the best "jobbers" manage to establish a foothold in the fans' minds with a gimmick. The Brooklyn Brawler, pictured above, was a bad-boy baseball player. Barry Horowitz patted himself on the back for good moves so much they sewed a hand shape on his ring jacket's shoulder. "Iron Mike" Sharp sported a forearm covering that supposedly harbored metal to unfairly harm his opponents.
None of them started out with the intention of putting over others but made the best of their circumstances at the expense of pride and ego. And that is one of the definitions of true greatness.

When they tried to put a belt on George The Animal Steele, he refused. He claimed it made no sense. He didn’t talk and he only worked on school breaks because he was a teacher/coach.
