I used to work for a big local company, approx 800-1000 employees, biggest civilian employer in the area.
Every year we got a ‘bonus’ at Christmastime calculated on the number of years service. Some people who had been there for 20-30 years got a couple of thousand, and ones who had less than a year $200.
And at Thanksgiving everybody got a 10 pound frozen turkey.
Then the company was taken over by hostile corporate raiders who stopped all that. No bonuses no turkeys, nothing.
People were extremely P.O’d.....................
