I put two kill switches in my car too. One is well-hidden, and will prevent the car from starting. The other one is just barely hidden, and is connected to nothing. I figure if a thief is looking for a kill switch, that’s the one he’ll find. Toggling it back and forth will do nothing.
Is that dummy kill switch really necessary? Probably not. But that’s just my style. I over-engineer everything.
Oh, and you do make a fair point about the Club. It will deter an amateur. But not a professional. Hence, the kill switch.
As others have posted, a hand held battery powered grinder will cut one off in minutes.
What I wanted to add is probably off topic, but all these super expensive gun safes are in the same boat (no pun intended). The same grinders can cut through the sides of one of these safes in just minutes.
The point to be made is nothing can be secured unless you personally stand watch over it with a gun.
The only cure will take time, which is to undo the democrat agenda of letting crime go unpunished. These thieves aren’t totally stupid. They know crime does pay in a rat city.
The rats create a problem, then come up with solutions to fix them in order to get votes. The problem is the fixes are designed not to work, just get votes.

The county sheriff in St. Paul, Minnesota has a youtube channel where he films on Friday nights. He was asking a bunch of kids at the bus stop about the “Kia Boyz” and if they had seen a car.
Young teen girl: “Yeah we seen it and we knowz who it is. But it don’t matter - they ain’t gonna stop.”
Sheriff: “Well, it’s not good to steal from folks - what if it was your car? What do you think will stop them?”
Girl: “But them away for more than a few hours at the police station.”
The sheriff as he drove away said something like “From the mouth of babes. Now if the Mayor, City Council and the prosecutor’s office had that kind of wisdom....”

True that they can be defeated. Only advantage is the noise and time of drilling or cutting the wheel lock which supposedly causes most thieves to move on to the next car. Who knows?

That has been common knowledge for 50 years.
The real idea is to make the car next to yours without a club more attractive because it can be stolen in less time with less effort.
The club wouldn’t matter in most cases anyway as thieves in that world are often looking for specific models, so if it’s got a club type device but the right model, it’s probably a gonner.
Club type devices might deter kids or amateurs but not those in the biz. Btw, those battery powered portable angle cutters are used in all kinds of crimes, not just auto theft. Very fast, very efficient.
Agreed. But if you own your average car a little thing like deterring crimes of opportunity is certainly of some value. I have a 20-year-old Sonata which I’m assuming is not a highly sought after vehicle by thieves. On the other hand why not discourage those out committing crimes of opportunity. Actually I don’t have to use it because I live in a small town and my car’s garaged whenever it’s not being driven.
I worry mostly about my motorcycle. In Louisville my daughter was telling me of a neighbor who had theirs stolen out of their front yard in the daytime
