Michael B. Jordan Rumored To Star In Live-Action “Hercules”
Spark Chronicles ^ | November 9, 2023

I don’t think the House of Mouse can read the room. Months after people showed their dissatisfaction with the new Snow White’s direction, they’re now reportedly working on a Hercules remake. According to Inside The Magic, Disney wants to cast Marvel star Michael B. Jordan as the Greek demigod.

The outlet has stated that this news is unconfirmed, but given how Disney has turned into a rage-baiting machine by swapping out redheads with POC (rather than creating new stories for them), I wouldn’t be surprised if Jordan does get cast as Hercules. However, the rumor mill is already rampant on X, and people are not happy. “I love MBJ but there is one problem, HE’S NOT GREEK!” writes @freecubaamerican.

“Rather than Disney hijacking historical white character stories why don’t they just create new ones with new stories?🤦🏻‍♂️” asks @ContrarianTribe. “Would this not make more sense?🤔”

Not only are people sick and tired of the Disney remakes, but they’re also done with the poor casting choices. When Florence Pugh made headlines after she was rumored to play Rapunzel in the live-action adaptation, the audience wasn’t too pleased about it either because she was “too old.” Others mentioned how they were tired of seeing the same stars over and over again.

More like the leftists who took over there are hell-bent on bringing it down. About $750 million in flops this year alone? Certainly points to that.

Blaxploitation movies aren’t new. Disney has no ideas. Blacula was a masterpiece.

I’m patiently waiting for the new Black Panther to be an Afrikaner.

Blaxploitation movies aren’t new.

I'll watch them if it's well done and you have the right actors in it.

Disney has no ideas.

They're too woke so they're brain dead right now.

Except Michael B. Jordan is actually a pretty good actor. He was good and believable as John Clark in Without Remorse even though the character is written as white. If the casting is based on talent as opposed to blatant quota filling, it can work.

I like Michael B. Jordan. He has a CV of quite diverse roles before he became an action hero.

That said, I'm sorry to hear that he might be getting caught up in the woke agenda.

Then he should know better and reject this role.

I hope so. If that’s what it takes to get the house of mouse back on track, so be it.

And you have to admit, he was a decent villain in “Black Panther”.

He's a good actor, the problem is that casting him as Hercules is ridiculous. It'll instantly be spotted for what it is the moment anyone sees the movie poster and any person who has had it up to here with this crap will turn around and walk away instead of paying to see the movie.

I saw an ad for the movie "The Marvels" yesterday for the first time. Front and center there are the superheroes who consist of a skinny blonde woman, a black woman, and a brown woman (I looked her up and she's a Pakistani). Instantly that movie was on my "hell no, never will I watch that" list. I'm not going to spend two hours of my time having more diversity garbage shoved in my face, it doesn't matter what the rest of the plot is.

It's amazing that Disney can't comprehend that by pushing this stuff they're immediately ruling out half the American public as paying customers.

Blacula was a masterpiece.

I have a soft spot for "Let's Do It Again"

"The Last Dragon", with Bruce Leroy was watchable.

Well, John Wayne was cast as Genghis Khan in "The Conqueror" and that movie . . . oh, wait . . . Never mind!

At least cast Jussie Smollet, he’s familiar with some Greek things.
