Double-amputee Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius was granted parole Friday, 10 years after shooting his girlfriend through a toilet door at his home in South Africa in a killing that jolted the world.
Department of Corrections spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said Pistorius would be released from prison on Jan. 5.
Pistorius, who turned 37 this week, has been in jail since late 2014 for the Valentine’s Day 2013 killing of model Reeva Steenkamp, although he was released for a period of house arrest in 2015 while one of the numerous appeals in his case was heard....

Same here. It’s anti-climatic. There are so many championship competitions during a given year that the best at their specialty are already known. And some nations simply don’t have the means to support contestants in every sport.
And some sports are what my wife calls soft porn: simply about attracting a male audience.
If I can recall that trial period, Pistorious seemed to be an extremely self centered person, who lacked any compassion for the dead girl’s family.
I think he shot her through a closed door.
He isn’t the first top level athlete to use and discard women like worn out toys.
The Olympics are ruined by trying to attract the female audience.
90% of coverage is backstory and emotional BS.
The only reason to watch women’s events is if they are hot, so your wife is correct about that.
