There is no game on earth that I would pay per hour to play. I like to play games and replay them, if they are interesting to me.
Makes sense with how greedy software companies are now. What I used to be able to buy and use indefinitely is now pay per year subscription. It’s highway robbery and no one seems to care.
The entire world of business software has gone to the rental/subscription model.
I’m not a gamer, so have no insight there, but being a “forward” and consumer-focused industry, am surprised they haven’t done this much earlier
From what I've seen from YouTube videos, the online version of GTA5 is nothing but hackers blowing up non-hackers, which isn't very fun.
But there are a lot of GTA5 missions that have been added over the years that are only available in the online version of the game.
If I ever get a hand-me-up PS, then I might buy a copy of GTA6 for the scripted mode play.
It’s pure greed. They know GTA6 is the most anticipated game in years and it will sell huge numbers especially if they don’t bow to the woke mob. I hate the all digital trend. You own nothing and no used option.
Absolutely agree. No online crap for me. If I can’t have my own copy and run it offline, forget it.
Woot! Maybe he should design standup consoles that provide 3-5 minutes of gameplay for a small deposit like 25 cents … GTA frogger but this time you’re the car trying to squash as many frogs as possible.
I also preferred first person shooter which was ruined with the addition of the
barely controllable npc as 'allies'.
I’m with you on this one. For the most part, new games coming out are filled with an agenda; gay, trans, Marxist, DEI crap. I have a great library of top-notch games that I play on a rotating basis. No agenda and most are masterpieces. Some but not all include the Bioshock series, Dead Space series, God of War series, uncharted series, and a bunch more sprinkled in. I want to play great games with excellent stories, not propaganda that focus on woke crap.
I agree with you. The first thing I said when I saw th eheadline is “well, looks like I’m not playing GTA 6” or any other game for that matter that charges by the hour.
But when you get down to it, we’ve been paying for time in video games since probably Everquest or World of war craft.
Yes...that was a monthly fee...but all a month is, is a aggregation of 730 (ish) hours.
That discriminates against incompetent older players!
