20 years of service, never saw it male on male. I will tell you the population of black lesbians in the NAVY is out of this world high.
I don’t consider it just a fact. There is a culture in America which demands nonstop punishment as a means to teach criminals a lesson by subjecting them to ultimate punishments.
It’s also not Biblical, because the Bible demands punishments that fit the crime.
I thank you for clarifying that you’re not among those here who share the idea that prisons should be forever punishments.
“...Don’t they have regular prisoner counts?...”
and CCTV cameras???
Hard to reach a balance.
That is so sad...and scary also for me as that facility is about 3 miles from my home. Every once in a while someone escapes so knowing that happened there makes that aspect scarier for me. Praying for the guys family...
I’ve known a few who have been in prison. One said he would kill himself rather than go back, and he was a martial arts expert!
Another spent his entire life warning his kids about going to prison.
The third did kill himself a few years after his release.
I had kin who was a guard at a prison. He said that after a short while the guards became just as hard core as the prisoners.
What no one (that I noticed) has mentioned is the idea that incarceration has became big BUSINESS in the US.
I’d bet more than 1 company would riot against the idea of bringing back the lash or say pillory as being “Barbaric”. When in reality it’s a smokescreen and they know a 1-2 year prison sentence would earn them $$$$$$.
“What has happened over the last 10 years? Why are there so many prisoners?
“The private contracting of prisoners for work fosters incentives to lock people up. Prisons depend on this income. Corporate stockholders who make money off prisoners’ work lobby for longer sentences, in order to expand their workforce. The system feeds itself,” says a study by the Progressive Labor Party, which accuses the prison industry of being “an imitation of Nazi Germany with respect to forced slave labor and concentration camps.”
The prison industry complex is one of the fastest-growing industries in the United States and its investors are on Wall Street. “This multimillion-dollar industry has its own trade exhibitions, conventions, websites, and mail-order/Internet catalogs. It also has direct advertising campaigns, architecture companies, construction companies, investment houses on Wall Street, plumbing supply companies, food supply companies, armed security, and padded cells in a large variety of colors.”
According to the Left Business Observer, the federal prison industry produces 100% of all military helmets, ammunition belts, bullet-proof vests, ID tags, shirts, pants, tents, bags, and canteens. Along with war supplies, prison workers supply 98% of the entire market for equipment assembly services; 93% of paints and paintbrushes; 92% of stove assembly; 46% of body armor; 36% of home appliances; 30% of headphones/microphones/speakers; and 21% of office furniture. Airplane parts, medical supplies, and much more: prisoners are even raising seeing-eye dogs for blind people.”
Back in 1966-1969 every year we got the “talk” on sodomy in the Military. Had to sign papers that we had the”talk”. Never saw a homo in the military back then although I did see a homo male whore on Okinawa. Never thought I would see the day but there he was! Gross!
I don’t buy that the industrial incarceration complex is to blame. That’s a leftist talking point. Why do I say that? Look at the crime stats. IMHO many more need to be removed from society.
While I agree the article is by leftists and their goal is different than ours (they are coming from the angle our system is unfairly targeting minorities etc with prison), it reminds me of an old saying:
Even a blind pig can sometimes find an acorn.
I think it’s a fact that incarceration has became a business, not sure you can disprove that no matter how much you don’t like it.
PS and I’m 💯 with you on certain group committing a disproportionate amount of our crime.
Somewhere I read he was in dormitory style lock up so you would think the guards would have noticed something. 3 days is a long time.
The prison officials who allowed this to happen need to go to prison themselves.
When someone is in state custody, the state has an obligation to protect them. The state should be held accountable for depraved heart murder.
We should absolutely not tolerate this stuff in prison.
Amen.
I find so many things about this country bass akwards so to say. For example we don’t give crime breakers the lash anymore because that’s cruel and unusual punishment but instead send them to an out of control prison with gay racist inmates who anally rape them, beat them, steal their food and generally make their lives a living hell.’
that is HUMANE??????
If this young man say bought or sold a small amount of drugs a lashing would be so much more appropriate. 12 lashes in public, his pain and humiliation will likely be enough he will never do it again. In a few days he would be back to work, still have his family and life.
We are becoming a crazy nation.
Agree with you on all points.
In today’s world people have to really weigh their choices and protect themselves from unintended bad outcomes.
We should also insist on justice and equal application of the law. Did all those people who broke into the Senate building to threaten Senators during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings go to jail? Did all those protestors that recently broke into congress a couple of weeks ago, go to jail?
Did any of the people involved in the riots of 2020 go to jail? They set fires to buildings, cars and what have you, but did any of them go to jail?
The Constitution forbids different standards of justice, but what we keep seeing is two different standards of law being applied to people.
I never said I don’t like it. I agree there’s probably some component of that but the left uses that as a cudgel to promote their version of reality and make sure a large portion of those that should be removed never suffer those consequences.
All the more reason to have situational awareness and avoid those situations. The unfairness exists and I can’t change that. This country would be a much different place if I had a magic wand.
Never steal, the government hates competition.🤔
