Don't know if it will finish off Ford, they said the same thing about the Edsel disaster in 1959, but it will have a negative impact to say the least.

More and more the evidence shows that EVs are, at best too cost inefficient and won't have any positive effect on the environment, if not a straight up scam.

And it's peculiar how some Ford engineers are downplaying potentially dangerous problems with the braking systems on their F 150EV. Have they learned anything from the Pinto exploding gas tank fiasco?

And what's with the Mustard Mach E? Sounds like "mocky" an old Jewish slur. As if it harkens back to Henry Ford's anti Semitic proclivities. Their Marketing Dept should've thought this through a little better. Probably some DEI hire ignorant of history came up with this bright idea. Speaking of which how ironic that this was their slogan in the late 60's-70's

My brother in law was let go at Ford last year. He was an engineer with a ICE engine background.

I assume they jettisoned many engineers who didn’t have EV knowledge.

Typical idiot Auto business decisions.

“Ford...could now close their doors forever!”

That was the plan all along.

I bought a Ford Fusion Hybrid in 2013 when the updated model first came out. I still drive the car today.

I was disappointed when Ford decided to drop the line, and then all four-door sedans. Then they went to all-electric trucks and SUVs.

So, now what?

Will Ford go back into the sedan business? Maybe they can restart the hybrid line, adding a plug-in hybrid that can get 40 miles to a charge?

This looks like BS. CEO has not made any statement that I can find outside of this video and nothing in other news or their websites about bailing on EV, not that I would mind that.

Toyota has taken this position for years. Their battery - ICE vehicles seem like a very common sense next step

! Ford is losing nearly 36,000 dollars on each EV they built….

It’s hard to overcome that!

"...Don't know if it will finish off Ford, they said the same thing about the Edsel disaster in 1959..."

But alas, that's when America was still America and there was still lots of time left before the filthy union government got rolling big time with all it's rotten rules, regulations, diktats etc.

By the way, a decent Edsel would be a prize these days!

I have two friends who own Ford dealerships, they both say the UAW deal is pure insanity and prices will go through the roof.

These EV’s will be worth nothing at some point IMO. But on the other hand, I have a buddy who is a car collector with over 125 unique pieces of American muscle worth millions and worth more every day. He happens to have a Ford GT Carbon Edition. The only way you can buy one is by invitation and he paid $880,000 if I recall correctly. Today that ride is worth north of a million.

EV’s would maybe make sense if at least the electrical feedstock was nuclear power.

” Have they learned anything from the Pinto exploding gas tank fiasco?”

The Pinto was safer than similar cars at that time. Don’t believe the Rolling Stone propaganda.

It failed.

Ford Avon Lake Ohio is investing big in EV trucks. Building additional plant it appears and battery factory. They’ve moved so much dirt they have a mini mountain on their site! Biggest scam ever!
