An Australian woman who took Ozempic to shed a few pounds before her daughter’s wedding has died from gastrointestinal illness — now her husband is warning that the medication is “not worth it at all.”
Trish Webster, 56, was prescribed Ozempic to help her squeeze into her dream dress for her daughter’s nuptials.
Ozempic is a medication approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for people with Type 2 diabetes — it’s become widely used as a weight-loss drug around the world. The drug works by mimicking a natural hormone, GLP-1, which slows down the passage of food through the stomach and intestines, making people feel full longer.

I was a little heavyset for my daughter’s wedding last year. I wore a black skirt and a blue blouse and a nice set of jewelry made by my choir co-leader, and everyone said, “You look so nice!” and I didn’t die.
So, her intestines ruptured?
Article doesnt say much, sounds painful
I almost bought the farm courtesy of abscesses rupturing diverticulitis related.
Talk about an unreal level of misery.
“not worth it at all”
Her grieving husband left a google review or something?
I kinda figured we’d eventually be hearing news like this. I will never touch that stuff, and this is a prime example why.
It took me about a year to work up tolerance for a full weekly dose of Ozempic (1 mg per week). The side effects were terrible when I started. I figured the weight loss occurred because my stomach was always so upset that I could barely eat anything. It doesn’t surprise me that it would kill someone.
On the flip side, it does help keep blood sugar in check.
sad how vane some can be to go to drastic measures, and even sadder that doctors help people do unhealthy unnecessary things like vanity cosmetic surgery and Rx fixes and results like this do at times happen.
Were you in sepsis?
Just do the Twiggy diet, cocaine, Marlboro Lights, and Tab...
Just take a couple of football fields worth of cloth and you’ll be good.

Being from Oz, she would have been triple vaxxed. I’m sure that had nothing to do with it.
Handy Tip: Just watch Ozempic’s ridiculous commercials. You’ll lose your lunch every time.
I think so.
For a few days starting recovering in IICU, that word came up a lot.
I didn’t have an immune system for a couple of weeks I think.
Kind of vague now and I try to keep it that way.
Seems like for a good majority of my life, my own GI tract had been causing me all kinds of misery in more ways than one.
I had a few pain attacks over the years that I almost wished would have dropped me.
Well, I’m glad you’re not dead. Try to keep it up. :)
I have seen three of their commercials while watching the Stars-Bruins game tonight.
Never mind. Different pharmaceutical. Skyrizi. They all sound alike.
What were the side effects? My wife thought about this “wonder drug’ but as usual, I’m skeptical.
O O O Ozempic is now Uh Oh Ozempic.
#slows down the passage of food through the stomach and intestines, #
That doesn’t sound healthy.
