Doubtful they were even residents of that neighborhood, they were probably trucked there to scarf candy from the “rich people”. I’ve heard of people bringing kids to different neighborhoods before; that adults can admit that straight face is telling.

I live in a garden apartment complex. I know kids live here especially my upstairs neighbor whose kid runs around most hours of the day.

I bought a small bag of candy just in case, but no one came. This is why I only buy candy I like.

I’m guessing the parents in the complex took/drove their kids to a nearby neighborhood with houses for trick or treating or to a church trunk and treat event.

With that being said, when I was a kid in the late 60’s we lived in Camp Hill, PA. But my mother would only take me to houses on our own small street or at most to a few houses one street over where she knew the people.

My 12 years older big brother didn’t like this though as I would share my haul with him. So, one year he volunteered to take me trick or treating. I think we hit every house in a 5-mile radius and my mother was furious that we didn’t get back until after 9:30. At one point I told him I was tired and wanted to go home but he said, “just one more street over, that’s where the really big houses are”.

My pillowcase was full of, overflowing with candy and my brother volunteered to “check” it for me and of course all the really good candy looked suspicious to him. LOL!

They flock to my neighborhood! We gave out 3 of those Costco bags of candy 1 at a time. Took about an hour and 20 minutes and it was all gone. Nonstop. Every year they come in with their minivans and suburbans loaded with people.
