How did Massie vote on the Inflation Reduction Act (sic)?
The problem is, we have NO discretionary money. Even worse, we have not an iota of descretion. We have an insurmountable and expanding volcano of debt and the pyroclastic flow is going to kill us all.
Penny wise, pound foolish, in this case.
Now, don’t get me wrong. IF the process of the Abraham Accords had continued for the rest of this decade, and IF we’d kept the screws tightly on Iran, I think we’d in a few years be in a position (and Israel in a position) such that US aid to Israel could be cut drastically and perhaps eliminated. (I’d strongly back continued joint efforts in development of defense technologies, however.)
As it is, with Biden’s blunders, the available options and their fallout range from very bad to disastrous (as in tens of millions of fatalities and an economic outlook that makes the Great Depression look like a walk in the park.) I choose “very bad” (support Israel, attempt to deter Iran / Hezbollah) with the understanding it can still go south.
What’s your proposal, and its repercussions?
BTW, here’s some fun reading material:

A "Biblical nation" whose founding Declaration of Independence makes no reference to Jesus Christ, but instead to some nameless "Creator" or "Nature's God", and whose own Constitution professes a right that runs directly counter to God's own commandment from the Bible:
First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
First Commandment: "...Thou shalt not have strange gods before me..."
The US was founded on the rock of YESHUA, per and simple. It has spread /e Gospel like no other nation. It is because of this that the enemy hates us, and wants to destroy the US. Joe MzcCarthy was an American prophet without honor, who hopefully, will be fully honored one day.
You made me president? ;-) Then my “compromise” proposal: continue Israel welfare at about the $2.5-$3 billion level of the previous decades for another few years (wean them off), cut funding to Ukraine down to “humanitarian” at <$1 billion for one year. Then start on the domestic spending cuts.
