@RepThomasMassie
This week the House will vote on $14.5 billion foreign aid package for Israel, in addition to the $3.8 billion that already passed. I will be a NO vote. Less than 1/3 of the 49,000 people who responded to my poll today support this additional funding. We simply can’t afford it.

On FR I was surprised at how many of you were also taking this position.
Seems foreign aid - no matter how worthy - is becoming very unpopular right now.
what’s the Ukraine tally?
33t in debt
makes it unpopular
Or it could have gone to US citizens in need …..
…….
and they haven’t given one dime for Armenian Christians being genocided by Muslims RIGHT NOW
Massie voted for the debt ceiling bill that gave Biden unlimited borrowing power. This guy virtue signals and is a fake and a phony.
Perhaps some sort of mention in the bill about the need to take
“exceptional” action or some such.
We certainly have a bigger interest in the outcome here then in Ukraine.
The lid needs to be put on soon or the pot will boil over ...
then we are all cooked.
I know people who are far more moderate than people here who are sick and tired of spending on foreign wars when people here are having serious financial issues and we are paying for all theses illegal aliens free stuff.
Mr Johnson needs to resist the push of the uniparty and RINOs and put this country before foreign entanglements or he will be little better than McCarthy.
I will hold out my thoughts on him until he delivers.
Yes Josh but I’ve been surprised by the response to recent foreign aid requests.
I’ve railed against it for years but few cared
Now it seems people care. It’s a good thing I believe.
Conservatives have always been about the pocket book.
You do realize that we are $33T in dept, right? Why should we barrow money to give to Israel? Why shouldn’t the barrow the money instead of us? Why not loan them it instead?
Maybe they should have thought about that before sending GAZILLIONS to Ukraine
“Seems foreign aid - no matter how worthy - is becoming very unpopular right now.”
However taxpayer’s money and the debt pile on to give the millions of illegals billions of dollars they haven’t worked for is in fact ‘foreign aid’ and is quite popular amongst the left and the politicians. If you add in the amount of years this has been going on is has to be over a trillion bucks by now. I recall when it was a problem in the Reagan years and now the problem is exponential and worsening by the day.
NO MORE MONEY TO ISRAEL, UKRAINE, OR ANY FOREIGN COUNTRY!!
I think 100 billion+ for Ukraine over the last year(s) has turned a lot of people against foreign aid
The Afghanistan 50 billion a year was supposed to be a “peace dividend” / saving .
Instead they simply replaced the grift!
Enough is enough,
> Seems foreign aid - no matter how worthy - is becoming very unpopular right now. <
And rightly so. Imagine that there are five wonderful charities in a town. Imagine also that a family in that town is deeply in debt. And each year their debt gets worse. It’s so bad that the family’s baby grandchildren will eventually be paying on today’s debt.
How much should that family be giving to those wonderful charities? A fair argument could be made that the answer is little to nothing.
There is no Constitutional authorization for the Federal government to give US taxpayer money to foreign governments for any purpose.
That should be the default position.
L
I know you’ve been consistent on this for a long time as well.
It used to be very much a minority position here.
However now people ARE watching the pennies and they see it.
I think it’s a good and healthy trend.
The media won’t reflect this though. Most of them will cheer this including many on our “side”.
End all Foriegn aid. It makes Israel too dependent on Biden as well.
