Yes, of course, unless they carry their own liability policies.

It better be illegal in America. There must be federal laws dealing with such scam artist fraud. Opps you forgot to give us your middle name 20 year ago when you singed up. No insurance claim for you.

. He should take this to court and sue the insurance company.

I am not a lawyer nor an insurance expert, but I suspect that a jury would find in his favor....UNLESS there was a question on the insurance application that specifically asked if there were persons living in the home other than the named insured and if so, their names, ages and relations/connections to the named insured.

No jury will expect each and every one of us to know all of the insurance company’s rules and limitations but insured are expected and required to answer questions truthfully.

I would get a lawyer who specializes in auto insurance accidents.

I don’t know how the insurance company is going to get confused between a plain jane F150 and a Raptor. The VIN gives it away.

State farm RUINED my life on a very simple claim.

They never paid out, but paid for a tow to the dealer. That was enough to make a claim. Now my rates have doubled for the next 3 years.

And they never, after 9 months, covered the damage. Not even close.

"Just because he didn't disclose that his 14 year old son lived in the house, they cancelled his insurance. I guess you have to disclose anyone who lives in your house that has access to the car.

Insurance carriers will calculate their premiums based on the risk presented by a particular policy. In doing so, they rely on information provided at the time the policy is bound. If the policy application asked for the number of persons age 14 and over in the household, and the insured did not disclose somebody, and then signed the policy application affirming all the information was correct, then he obtained the coverage under false pretenses.

1 they demand you give them private information on who lives in your home.
2 How did the agent know to ask when the kid was not involved in the accident?

Just like all scams, more than half of even normal people need reminding on a regular basis.

It’s as human nature as it is for the other half of the populace to suffer the enduring disorders which suscept them to think & act like democrats, ironically deserving of such treatment.

I finally grasped that the guy’s in CA, so there’s a MUCH better than half a chance that some of our reactions are all wrong (mine included).

Does it?

And how do you know they can’t tell the difference?

My dad had 3 teen boys.
Insurance company knew and WE knew we were NOT insured to drive dad’s car.
