‘World leading’ scientist dies aged 29 after ‘pulled muscle’ turned out to be rare cancer

One of Britain’s top young scientists has died aged just 29, from a rare form of cancer originally diagnosed as a pulled muscle. Kirsty Smitten was a “world-leading” expert set to potentially help save tens of millions of lives with a new type of antibiotic she had developed. She was named a Forbes magazine’s ‘30 under 30’ scientist and in February this year was crowned FSB’s young entrepreneur of the year. She passed away in hospital with her family beside her on 4 October, having spent the past seven weeks in Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Her cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma, was so rare her surgeon had never seen it before

Rare cardiac cancer....

As a medical person in the UK, its almost 100% guaranteed she got 1 or more clot shots, which also have been credited with allowing aggressive cancers forming in people.

Her ordeal began in November last year she was woken up the night with severe chest pain. Speaking in March this year, she said when she first arrived at A&E with severe heart pain she was sent away by the GP and told to take codeine for a pulled muscle. But she insisted something was wrong so waited for 11 hours before a CT scan revealed a cancerous tumour in her right atrium.

This happened in the UK. Severe heart pain is written off as a pulled muscle: quick, write a script, and get that possibly high-cost patient out of there.

Here I thought she pulled a leg or arm muscle. Well, if they (UK) call it a pulled muscle, then there a reason why heart cancer is not heard of. It's just a pulled muscle! a minor thing. How many others were misdiagnosed?

I don’t know, but is there a single story about someone dying posted on this forum anymore without a dozen or so people talking about the COVID vaccine?

I swear, we can get a story about some skydiver whose parachute didn’t open dying and there would be someone here going “must have the vax!”

Oh come on, if someone died in a parachute accident, it’s a parachute accident, but a 29 year old that was diagnosed with a pulled muscle and dies of a rare heart cancer, that’s another story.

Of course, she was vaxxed. That has been a requirement for virtually 100% of healthcare providers in the UK.

Did the vax cause the cancer? I don't know. Hard to say with a sample size of 1.
