He should be.
I am so sick of our two tiered *justice* system.
"This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it."
"Are you talking about the Russians, sir?"
"No, Alec Baldwin is behind us with a gun."
“AFTER some of the crew had loaded real ammo and fired it at some cans and bottles off the set.”
If that was so, then they would have the duty to remove the lethal cartridges.
It probably was reckless to ever load a studio gun with lethal cartridges.
The crew were plinking with it after hours. Morons. There should never have been live ammo anywhere near the set. The armourer was incompetent to say the least. That unfortunately is to be expected from film school leftists.
Of course he didn’t intend it, that is why the charges are involuntary manslaughter not first degree murder. Baldwin was engaging in an act that was grossly dangerous or negligent, killing someone in the process. No different than firing a gun in the dark, hitting and killing an unseen passerby. Whether he remembers it or not is irrelevant.
“I think it takes a real bunch of Hollowoody dumbasses to allow live ammunition into a place where idiots are aiming guns at one another and pulling the triggers.”
Hopefully, 12 other people will hold your opinion too.
“It is unfortunate that a terrible tragedy has been turned into this misguided prosecution,” the statement said.”
Yes. When some incompetent fool gets someone else killed it’s an unfortunate terrible tragedy. Look how much Baldwin has already suffered. BTW who was Hutchins anyhow? Not an important person. This is all so hard on Arrec.
Anyone who would work with Alec Baldwin is Suicide-ally Stupid.
Standard procedure for live guns on-set, nobody touches guns unless the armorer hands it to them. Also, when a live-gun is handled on-set, it is never pointed at anyone, it is aimed off-body.
In this case, a production assistant went and grabbed the gun for him to rehearse the scene with and the idiot actor aimed it at another person.
It should also be noted that, being single action, he actually needed to cock the hammer first before pulling the trigger. But it’s also possible that idiot actor was already holding the trigger down when he cocked it, thus why you never have your finger in the trigger until you are ready to destroy whatever/whoever the barrel is pointing at.
LOL, that’s perfect!
My personal hypothesis is that he pointed the gun at the two of them and pulled the trigger to prank them, thinking it was a blank. He can’t admit that because it’s obvious and actionable irresponsibility amounting to involuntary manslaughter. How live ammunition got into the gun is a separate issue, as is how many people in the chain of custody failed in the simple action of checking the thing. But even so, the critical act was pointing the gun and pulling the trigger - without that, the rest wouldn’t have mattered.
This was obvious from the beginning, glad they are finally waking up.
Baldwin deserves to be charged as the producer of a film with unsafe policies that led to an death.
As an actor Baldwin was entitled to assume that the gun was not loaded with a live bullet. Movies and movie-making are make-believe, not real.
“which Baldwin assumed”
#2 on the gun safety list:
#1 Never point a gun at something you don’t want to shoot
#2 Check every firearm, every time, never assume it’s not loaded.
Careless, reckless, and easily avoidable.
It’s not her fault no matter what she said or did. The fault lies with the person that loaded or left live ammunition in the gun, the persons (including Baldwin) who didn’t check said ammo in the gun before firing it, and Baldwin who fired the gun.
[[Like Tony Dickopil said on CBS this morning, prosecuting him want bring the girl back.]]
Noone thinks it will- BUT it will bring justice
My theory is that he pulled the trigger and drew back the hammer with his thumb. His thumb then slipped off the hammer as he brought the weapon up and it fired.
Exactly! Great Point0- Alec failed many safety protocols, and he alone pulled the trigger not knowing if the gun had real ammo or not- His recklessness caused members of the crew to quit-
The charge isn’t murder- it should be reckless homicide- Negligence etc-
