Bad weather in the Britsh Isles?
The weather has run amok.

Sounds peculiar. How did water get under the hood? Is that happening in Oregon and Washington where it rains a lot, too?

According to the report, the vehicle belongs to Johnny Bacigalupo and Rob Hussey, a gay couple living in the Edinburgh suburbs

They just had to mention that, didn’t they?

So, do not drive near any puddles. Be sure to purchase the large Tesla Umbrella attachment accessory in case of rain.

It’s so weird how I have left ice vehicles sitting in the rain for days/weeks and have never had this happen to them.

What a scam.

There’s an easy solution: drive on sunny days. Park in a garage or under a tarp and use other options if you need to travel.

I read about this on a few different sites.

Since this is the first I have heard about this happening and I think the anti EV guys would have made it likely for me hear about it..

Either guy drove it through really deep water, and there should be wet carpets in the car

Or there was a water leak into the battery pan and the drain (if there is one?) was clogged. In this case it could be a manufacturing defect, or a very minor fender bender.

I have chased lots of water leaks into cars, bad welds, ‘no visible damage’ accidents, lose trunk spoiler all were hard to find.

If guy knows he did not drive through deap water he needs to find where the leak is

Why do they bother to mention that the owners of the broken Tesla are H O M O S E X U A L S?
What does that have to do with the story?

When I lived in Australia, decades ago, I drove an Austin 1800 by British Leyland. I named the car: “Rain Lover”, because every time it rained (in particular the November rainy season), the car would stall. It was useless driving through puddles. I guess there’s been little improvement in the auto industry in this regard.

Btw, this is what astounds me... “saying the battery was damaged due to water ingress and it was unfortunately not covered by the battery’s 8-year warranty”

And these guys just accepted that?! “It rained on your car so the warranty does not apply.” At least contact Musk and get his answer.

Apparently EVs aren’t suited to a cold climate.

Is that irony or Alanis Morissette irony?

a very expensive dud:

video: 1m07s: 17 Oct: Daily Mail: Moment £190,000 McLaren plug-in hybrid sports car bursts into flames on TEST DRIVE a mile away from motor dealership
The McLaren Artura went up in flames in Pontefract Road, Stourton, in Leeds
By JOHN SIDDLE
Images show the scorched wreckage of the plug-in hybrid, which was recalled in the US this year over a fire risk...

It is understood that the 23-plate car was on a test run with a customer and a showroom worker when it suddenly caught alight. Both passengers escaped unharmed...

The first launch was cancelled at the last minute due to software issues and at the rescheduled event last summer a car caught fire...

It warned of a fire risk that stems from a high-pressure fuel pipe that can become loose...

Batteries were probably contaminated and corroded by large amounts of semen seeping under the back seat. Is that not covered by the warranty?

I truly don’t get how Elon gets away with selling cars with these well known negatives. One would think selling cars with highly flammable batteries would by itself be a disqualifying feature for a prospective buyer or insurer.
Someone is going to lose his home due to his neighbor owning a Tesla starting a two day long lithium fire, and that homeowner will be reaching into Elons deep pockets to pay for the damages. Its just a matter of time.

Some umbrellas say “rain resistant.” Guess they work unless it rains hard.

Maybe they can ramp up the EV ads showing perfect weather like they did for the regular Segway and for the Ninebot One S1 - Segway that looks like a unicycle.

Ads show perfect day in May with a man wearing a suit and tie or some carefree young people smiling in the sunshine.

Not shown: Michigan ice storm after 12 inch snowfall with 40-50 mph winds coming in from the lakes.
