Egypt did not ever warn Israel of a major attack from Gaza in the days leading up to the current war with Hamas, an Egyptian official told the newspaper Al-Shuruk on Wednesday.
This is despite previous reports, which claimed officials in Cairo had warned senior Israeli officials in advance.

and there are several incoming rockets that are bursting hundreds of feed in the air over the building, but I can’t see any damage on the ground or any explosion of a warhead, just a puff of white smoke. Does anyone know what these weapons are?
My question is why Mossad, supposedly the best intelligence organization on the planet, didn’t have a clue that such a large scale attack was being planned and equipped for by Hamas.

Low-tech communications was not looked for which is hard to believe when one knows that you are dealing with 6th century animals.
I believe it was in the Reagan administration that it was postulated “the muslim uses tech he cannot understand to destroy the beautiful things he cannot create.”
There are three possibilities.
1. They are not the best intelligence agency in the world.
2. Even if they are, intelligence is never perfect.
3. They knew about the attack, but allowed it to proceed.
The only one I think is dubious is number 3. The real answer is most likely #2.
Why didn't the US know about the Pearl Harbor attack? It was planned for almost a year in advance by the Japanese involving fleets of large ships, hundreds of aircraft and 10s of thousands of men. See #2 above.

btw, following is just as murky - a ridiculous 36 minutes from Germany’s official media Deutsche Welle in a joint effort with many others yet it uncovers NOTHING, but claims near the end that the CIA knew Ukraine was going to blow up the pipeline and told them not to do it! what a laugh. Sy Hersh’s theory gets dismissed in about a minute:

I bet this idea there was a so-called “warning” passed on is pure disinformation. I think the whole disgusting Pali attack on Israel was a remarkably a closely guarded secret. And to say that “Hamas is threatening an XXX attack on Israel” is something you could have said 35 times in the past year or in any year. This gives a way for Egypt to be Egypt the way they will have to support the Palis even thought the E’s hate the P’s and probably want absolutely zero involvement with this situation.
Warning or not, Israel was caught to some degree flatfooted. There can’t be an argument.

Speculation is rampant.... I prefer facts.
Maybe there was an over-reliance on signals intelligence and the terrorists were passing paper messages via couriers.
We knew and they knew and mum’s the word. This was all about escalation of WWIII. There’s much more to come. We’re escalating on several fronts and yes, inside our borders too. How could it not be coming here? We’ve been setting this nation up for it for years now.
I don’t know the answer yet, but I can smell a skunk here somewhere. For the Israelis to be this much off guard they must have been drawn off-kilter by a carefully designed diversion or faint. More analysis must be done of the events leading up to the attack. Granted it was a holiday but that doesn’t explain the delay in responding to such outrageous events as attackers coming in on gliders in the sky!

Many, and not tin foil crew only, think Pearl Harbor was known about and allowed to happen.
Number 3 is the correct choice.
People just don’t want to admit the depravity of their own governments.

On hindsight, wonder what clues would have been visible or detectable by Israeli intelligence.
