They should be called The Rolling Gallstones by now.

I actually remember way back in 1995 when the Rolling Stones did the launch for Windows 95 with the tune “Start Me Up” and before the end of the song there was the infamous blue screen of death. Wasn’t that also their Steel Wheels tour? I remember thinking then they were getting up there in age.

George, “the quiet Beatle” would have fit in anywhere.

John would have had trouble with Mick. And trouble with Brian Jones, though he’d think better of Jones after he died and John’s resentment was directed at Mick. Mick would have had trouble with John as well.

I mean, The Dirty Mac in December 1968 was Eric Clapton on lead guitar, Mitch Mitchell on drums, Keith Richards on bass, John Lennon on vocals and whatever you want to call his guitar playing.

Had that gone forward, obviously Reefer Kichards would not have stayed on, but Clapton had just dissolved Cream. Who knows?

When Harrison (temporarily) left The Beatles on January 10, 1969, "Let It Be" shows Lennon/McCartney at a late lunch discussing bringing in Clapton to replace George.

Traveling Wilburys were a good band but didn’t really sound like the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. Closer to what Bob Dylan and Tom Petty we’re doing on their own already.

Keith is delusional. None of the Beatles would fit in musically with the Rolling Stones for very long.

All one has to do is to look at Rolling Stone songs vs John Lennon and George Harrison songs. Some intersection but not much. The Beatles individually and as a group focused on vocal harmonies.

The Rolling Stones stayed near the top for half a century, so in terms of longevity, they beat the Beatles hands down.

But if it were not for the Beatles phenomenon, the whole British Invasion would never have happened - and Keith Richards would have been a nobody.

Some billions of years from now, the sun will expand and devour the earth....and Keith will rock in his chair....and watch.

Several biographies noted times which various members of the two groups met as friends or even in friendly collaboration.

This article cites background singing and playing.

RE: Keith is delusional.

Actually, did any of us alive in the 60s and 70s believe we would be analyzing opinions from the living sage Keith Richards in 2023?

Long may he live.

The press loved to make it look like the bands hated each other, when in fact, they all greatly respected each other.

Definitely. They hung out, got high together, respect each other, photographed on each other’s album covers, etc.

RS and Beatles had different styles and were not exactly competing with one another as each had their own style and space.

Of course one might counter that with claim with Satanic Majesties Request vs Sgt Pepper. But SMR was basically a one-off by the Stones under lots of LSD. Jagger likes just two songs off that album - She’s a Rainbow and 2000 light years from home.

2000 Light Years From Home, one of my favorite Stones songs.
