Former President Donald Trump has laid out the conditions under which he would be willing to assume the House speaker position. (snip)
"I have been asked to speak as a unifier because I have so many friends in Congress," Trump told the outlet. "If they don't get the vote, they have asked me if I would consider taking the speakership until they get somebody longer term, because I am running for president."
"They have asked me if I would take it for a short period of time for the party, until they come to a conclusion—I'm not doing it because I want to—I will do it if necessary, should they not be able to make their decision," Trump added.(snip)
While the speaker is typically selected from House members, the Constitution does not mandate that the role be filled by a member of Congress. A handful of Republican lawmakers have already indicated their support for Trump taking the position.

I still think it’s a troll but it’s a magnificent one. Trump would need 218 votes and there are a lot of Never Trumpers out there, so I don’t put the likelihood very high. But never say never.

My very good friend gets all her news on MSNBC. She is HORRIFIED that the terrible man on trial (therefore guilty} wants to be speaker.
I tried to explain things, but oh well, why bother with someone who has no clue re Biden crime, Burisma, bribery, etc.
Should he take the job he wouldn’t need to step down. Just think. He could demand big city mayors declare martial law. Doesn’t mean they will but the MSM will have to report it. City folk are getting tired of this $hit and some are dumb enough to think he would have that power to do just that.
He could reestablish congress a co-equal branch of the government. Might even start the senate into going along.
Just want it long enough to where he gets to sit behind PINO Drooling Spoon at the SOTU, next to Kamal Nose, as the world’s eyes are all on him, 100% of the camera time.
The conditions should be...
That congress declares Biden unable and incapable and incapacitated to run the presidency...
and that Kamala gets declared ineligible to take over the presidency...
and that the Speaker of the House then is declared president.
Not too much to ask, is it?
Maybe, maybe not. It would be short term. It will once again expose McCarthy’s
RINOs. The ones that vote NO will be targeted in Primary Challenger’s ads
given the challengers are True MAGA.
The votes will be recorded on the record and on video tape ready to use throughout
the Primary Season.
That does not really matter. Trump is trolling the Democrats.
Perhaps he may drive some of them into fits of apoplexy. That would be a huge win and would make his next term as President so much easier.
