What are the owners doing to that poor dog? I’ve had dogs all my life and know many people with dogs, and have never heard of anyone’s dog biting someone.

We had a dog (dachshund/pariah mix) who bit everybody in our extended family at least once during his 16 years on this earth. We never once mistreated him in any way, but he did get run over in Florida and hacked with a machete in Venezuela. He was ornery from birth, however.

My mother-in-law’s dog bit my then two year old son’s hand.

My son had given the dog a cookie and then decided he wanted it back and tried to take it from the dog’s mouth.

Life lesson learned!

We had a Springer Spaniel who would bite people—if they got between her and any food....

She was a wonderful dog—but you just had to know her limitations....
