It does, but it means that somebody died in the commission of your crime even if you didn’t lay a hand on them.

The passenger is not in control of the vehicle, so he can’t be responsible for what the driver did. The driver will bear the primary responsibility for the crime. However, this might be applicable to the passenger as well if they were using a stolen car, because it wouldn’t matter then because he stole a car and somebody died. It’s possible they could get the passenger that way.

The good is that, in Nevada, you can face the same amount of time in prison for being an accessory to the crime as you would if you were the primary actor of the crime.

“In most cases in Nevada, aiding and abetting carries the same punishment as the underlying crime that you helped to carry out.2 For example, aiding and abetting a robbery carries the standard robbery sentence of two to 15 years in Nevada State Prison.”
