I watched an episode of Smithsonian Channel's Air Disasters where they dissected the cause(s) of the explosion of Flight 800. It was a jaw dropping whitewash and they found/manufactured evidence to discount the missile theory.

The center fuel tank being over-pressurized in high heat is one thing. But a spark from a "short circuit" caused by high and low voltage wire harnesses being in close proximity to each other...igniting the fuel? Not buying it.
