Izzy has not looked himself since the TKO loss to Pereira. There’s just some fighters who only can maintain their internal sense of invulnerability so long as they’re undefeated. In its place comes an ounce of doubt and a chink in their killer instinct. One loss (and especially by a knock-out) and the decline begins.
Last night Izzy was only 34% significant strikes landed, only 14% for strikes targeting the head. And he was 0/0 on strikes in the clinch (Strickland was 11/14).
For a title defender, that’s pathetic.
