Yes, I met some friends for appetizers and a couple of cold ones yesterday in the early evening and the pub was having issues with Square Pay as we cashed out. They had us select “Go Offline” and it would allow us to complete the transaction.

I wonder if that’s been resolved yet.

That does explain a few things. I went to get my car washed this morning, inserting my prepaid card (originally 10 washes, probably have about 5 left). The screen on the payment kiosk didn't accept the card, said cash only right now. The lady in the lane next to me couldn't get her credit/debit card to work either.

So maybe this financial company manages gift cards too.
