Every place cards everyone in Alaska. It is not only to do with age. Sometime in the case of DUI’s etc use of booze is proscribed as part of the sentencing. The driver’s license is marked accordingly.
Didn’t know about that one.
They don’t know if you identify as underage until they ask.
Did you shout your pronouns at them?
Young/Youngself
But if you are adjudicated as a DUI isn’t your drivers license suspended?
If you buy hard liquor wearing your Jesus Saves shirt to prove you're not legalistic ... you might go to a "high church" Protestant church. LOL
If when drinking a glass of wine you tell your friend, "This isn't as strong as I had Sunday" ... you might be Catholic or Episcopalian. LOL
If you tell people that you've never been drunk, drink only a glass of wine only a few times per year, but tell folks that perhaps the story in John 2 about Jesus turning the water into wine and it being the best wine served last instead of first, might be a reference to an old Jewish custom of a father setting aside wine when his daughter is born to use years later for her wedding and serving that first...you might be a Christian nerd living in the Bible Belt used to deep Bible conversations with other Christian programmers. LOL
I find it odd they card people for purchasing non-alcoholic beer. Seriously?
Some companies have policy to card everyone. Deal with it. And now, not sure impact, but many states require ID scanned. Mostly that has same info already on the card.
Yes, a bit different. I was a moderator there.
🤣 Thanks
The last time I was in Tennessee they remove all doubt and check every ID. NO EXCEPTIONS and NO DICRMINATION on the part of the store either. Probably no lawsuits either. Keeps the counter folks honest as well.
I feel the same way. I tell them “I wish I was 21 again.”
Walmart needs an armed guard at each store exit, and they need an enforced policy to require showing a receipt for *every* customer who exits with merchandise.
Scary isn’t it? When you see “The People of Walmart” website, you would think booze would be the last thing Walmart should be selling to those customers.
I whoop out the ID and tell ‘em I just turned 21 yesterday. Big celebration. Usually gets a laugh.
many moons ago, Target refused my military ID to purchase beer.
Same Target insisted on ID to buy a Diet Pepsi.
I insisted the ID was legit and it was all i had- take it or i’ll leave the beer. Refused to show ID for the soft drink and cashier manually entered the price.
Gee I couldn’t wait to get home and tell everybody I was carded!
I never have to present ID at Walmart, the attendant walks over and makes a couple of clicks and done. But that’s in self-checkout.
