Reba McEntire Visits Popular Monterey Wharf Restaurant, Second Star to Visit That Day (Fran Tarkenton)

Country superstar Reba McEntire was on the Central Coast this past week and was nice enough to take a photo with a local restaurant owner.

Cafe Fina was surprised as anyone when McEntire showed up at their restaurant saying she had a reservation. After figuring out it was made under her boyfriend's name, the Queen of Country was led to a private table for a meal.

Owner Dominic Mercurio told KSBW that McEntire was nice and giving, even taking a photo with him and a server (photo above).

Mercurio said it was a busy day for Cafe Fina as they had served legendary Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton earlier in the morning.

Effing Fran Tarkenton!

That guy-he used to drive me crazy when he played my team with all the insane scrambling he did, and they didn’t protect the quarterback back then, either.

Man, was he good, and I hated it when my team played him.

How do you recognize these people?

No one I know about. Tarkenton I remember, but no idea what he looks like now.

Did they know that Tarkenton was coming when he made the reservation, or did he use another name? Howard Cosell?

This is still a sickness in my mind. Why people care more about people who were on tv for any reason is beyond me. But...people are generally idiots so I guess fawning over tv people makes sense.

I don’t know, it is possible. I have not followed his life, but seeing his name brings back another time for me, when I was very much interested in what Fran Tarkenton may have been doing!

Have no idea what he has done with his life since leaving football...
