(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion, or satire, or both.)

It’s campy. I’ve DVRed it because it’s light entertainment.

Saw this for the first time on Turner Classic Movies one night. Thought it was pretty good for its era.

That show has a real creep factor to it. You know something majorly BAD is afoot, slowly builds the tension as it goes along until the big reveal.

Wonder what the temperature of the earth was 5 million years ago. I’m sure all our climate scientists can agree on what it was...jerks...but like I say...GRANT MONEY is forever.

Giant Grasshoppers. Yawn

Saw it on Ch4 NY in the early 70s on a Sunday nite after the news. Thought it was well done. Around 20 years later Tobe Hooper did a flick with a similar theme, Lifeforce. Had a similar possessed chaotic London population at its climax.

Saw it as a kid, scared the bejeezus out of me.

Xlnt movie. Best when calculating the implications with each discovery presented and reactions to the information. The biggest question raised is, “so what is man after all?”...whether altered by the Martians to mimic their life or evolved from the primordial slime without Martian help. Is man just a glop of highly arranged chemicals tracking a predictable path?
Certainly not a Godzilla meets King Kong movie.

With very nasty telekinetic powers that could infect the world into a final destructive war.

Light entertainment?
It lacks the humor and frivolity of, say, "The Exorcist" but it's lighter than "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
