No. No it does not. It’s hard to take you seriously when you make a statement like this.

COVID stands for Coronavirus. COVID-19 is a novel (new) Coronavirus first identified in 2019, hence the name.

Yes, some coronaviruses cause common colds although most common colds are caused by rhinoviruses. RSV and parainfluenza can also cause common cold symptoms. RSV can cause pneumonia and other life-threatening complications in some young children.

Rhinoviruses that cause common colds are typically mild and while annoying for a few days - sore throat, runny, stuffy nose, sneezing, some fatigue, it typically resolves in a few days and only rarely causes complications or requires hospitalization and mostly a risk to those that have immunocompromising conditions, or those with severe asthma.

While some strains of Coronaviruses cause mild illness in humans similar to a rhinovirus, more lethal varieties can cause SARS, MERS and COVID-19.
