I read the original books, they were great sci-fi.

The movie did not do them justice, kinda campy even for their time.

Of all the sci-fi movies of the 50’s this one needs a modern remake.................

Perhaps their movie failure changed minds on filming
the sequel. Don’t believe it was ever made. Read both
books back in the 50/60s. What would the world be with
no moonlight? AWC was encouraging- at least they had
heat thanks to a ‘stowaway’. Had to search diligently for
the book sequel before it was found.

I’ll echo the comments of previous posters. I read the books in my early teens back in the 60’s. Helped cement an interest in science, engineering and reading Sci-Fi.
I’ve had the original in my collection for decades. Recently received the hard to find sequel as a gift.
A second read tells me my memory isn’t quite as accurate as I thought. 😊Still an enjoyable read and trip down memory lane to another time.

As mentioned already, movie didn’t do the original work justice. Not surprising is it?

The movie did not come close to the books.
