USN Special Warfare Captain (Ret) Hung Cao is running for Senate in VA. Great ad. Worth your time as he sets the stage as a refugee from Viet Nam and his love for America - along with his grave concerns about the looming loss of freedoms.

This is not an excerpt or a quote because the link has no text - just the video.

Virginia is always won and lost in the densely packed democrat counties around washington dc. Its those counties that have been pushing virginia left for the last three decades.

imho there was a lot of fraud in the democrat counties in 2020. glen youngkin, the current republican governor, won his election in 2021—in part by holding down democrat fraud.—especially in the beltway counties.

I think he will do so again in 2024. Virginia may be a surprise pick up for republicans in the 2024 presidential race. In that case hung cao would get some coat tails.

Certainly a tactical error running in that district.

*IF* he can fund and run a quality state-wide campaign, he’ll have a better shot.

He lost a state congressional seat a couple years ago. I’d like to think Hung Cao has a chance to win a state-wide office — Governor Youngkin is a conservative, and he’s really getting some things done.

Good to see a Republican candidate who’s not a quitter when he loses. Hope Herschel Walker does likewise in Georgia. Good things take time.

President Lincoln lost a lot of elections. So did President Reagan. So did Nixon. So did Brandon. *SPIT*

Luckily, so has Hillary! :)

ckilmer, I appreciate your insight on this guy. Perhaps you and others can comment on Johnathan Emord and Scot Parkinson who appear to be also conservative and with developed campaign funding and endorsements.

*Apparently he lost a race for a congressional seat ... so he is a “loser.”*
If he can’t win a house seat it doesn’t mean he should aim higher.

*Perhaps you could provide an alternative or suggest a reason for your opinion?*
A suggestion/reason: see post# 16. Alternative”Youngkin. Term-limited and 3 years into his only term. Won’t happen. That’s why we lose. It’s called ‘candidate quality’. Heard it somewhere.

“So did Brandon.”

The primary where he got “outed” for plagiarism was classic—even the mass media turned on him. For those interested the year was 1987. Biden stole the words of a British politician, Kinnock.

Primaries are not elections, they are the process, along with caucuses, by which we chose our candidates for office.

Ronald Reagan never lost a general election and Richard Nixon only lost two elections: Gov. of California in 1962 and President of the United States in 1960. I would not say that is a lot of elections.

Since CMT pulled it, I wonder how long before YouTube does the same.

At least we have Rumble.

I know. I was on the wrong thread. I was thinking of the Jason Aldean music video.

Walking downstairs to get more coffee now ... ;-)

Hung Cao did better than the political make up of the district.

Candidate...................%...........Votes
Jennifer Wexton (D)........53.2........157,405
Hung Cao (R)...............46.7........138,163
Other/Write-in votes........0.2............572

Total votes: 296,140

Daily Kos calculated what the results of the 2020 presidential election in this district would have been following redistricting. Joe Biden (D) would have received 58.3% of the vote in this district and Donald Trump (R) would have received 40.2%

Jennifer Wexton, an incumbent spent $5,764,903 to defeat her challenger, Hung Cao whose campaign spent $3,212,422.
