An 18-month-old Florida girl “baked to death” after police said her parents left her alone in a car all night in 105-degree heat after returning home from a Fourth of July party where they drank alcohol and smoked marijuana.
Joel and Jazmine Rondon, both 33, from Lakeland, have been arrested on a charge of aggravated manslaughter of a child in what Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd described as their daughter’s “torturous” hot-car death, which he blamed on “negligence and drug use.”
The couple went to a party on Tuesday with their three children, all under the age of 9, and stayed out until nearly 3 the next morning, cops said.
While at the party, detectives said, both parents drank alcohol and smoked marijuana — and the dad also allegedly used meth.

I am loathe to dwell on stuff like this too much. What’s worse is stuff like this is a mere sliver of the awfulness that is in this world.
Sheriff Grady Judd will not rest until the parents are convicted, sentenced, and the case is closed.
I posted earlier on why someone would leave cocaine in the White House. The renter/drug users I’ve dealt with will leave money, drugs, paraphernalia, tools, expensive stuff because they got high and didn’t remember they had it. They’ll empty the entire house, but leave one entire closet or room untouched because, they got high and forgot it. If I still have a way to contact them, I’ll call them and ask them to come get whatever it is. They’ll be shocked they left, say, all their child’s clothes.
People who get drunk or high are entirely focused on themselves. Nothing else matters.

I do a pretty good background check. I try to weed out the obvious bad renters. There was a thirty-something single mother employed in a local prison. She was doing fine and then I got her onto the free Covid rent support. She got probably $13,000 in government money for rent and electric.
She went from being paycheck to paycheck to so addicted to probably meth I could barely understand her. Similarly, I got a 74-year-old woman on the same program. Same thing. She spent the sudden surplus on drugs. She fled on her own, apparently one step ahead of something chasing her.
There was a young man who was an awesome roofer. He was white, good looking, hugely muscled, married with one small child. I paid him something like $1800 in cash for helping me put on a roof. He did a great job. Went home that night after apparently buying drugs which he normally didn’t have the money for. His wife fled with the child. He nailed himself into the house because “somebody is watching me.” He then fled and ended up living in a motel in Tallahassee. He was working for his dad’s company and his dad fired him.
Most of these events were a total shock to me.
All Hispanics immigrating (even illegally) here just want to work and they are all great family members who never do drugs, or commit crimes and always take care of their kids. They will vote in a crushing red WAVE— no RED TSUNAMI. A wave of Hispanic votes that will overwhelm the democrats and crush them in the house and re-take the senate. Just look at the Rio Grande Valley, look at Marya Flores, she is the new sort of Latina Republican and she will win by a landslide as well as nearly all others.

sold our property and now out of that mess.
See the same with employees. They are great for a couple of months while they get their finances in order. Once they get some breathing room, the wheels come off.
One guy called us begging for bail money because he was in jail in a city 2 hours away.
Yeah, no. You’re fired.
