I wonder why they would do this?

I believe a lot of careful thought goes into store layout and product placement.

Its for efficiency. Its an entire underwear section one area for men, one for women. Easier to restock or change stock. Can bring all of it to the same general place and then take anything necessary, back.

I’m wondering too. The more I think about it the more sleezier it appears.

One of the Wal Marts I shop at? Not only are the knickers right across from the men’s department but the women’s sleep wear. I know back in the day, back when big department stores were the thing this would not have happened.

Good grief even men’s and women’s shoes had a different place in the store!

Because women do a lot of the family shopping, so that placement is not to aid perverts but to encourage wives and moms to restock basic necessities for all members of the family. Everything isn’t about voyeurism.

I’ve never seen a guy leering in the ladies’ aisles, and who cares about the food area? What can one really see from the vegetable aisle? Overthinking at its worst!

I have to disagree with you there.

In can't count the number of times I'm looking for something and finally have to ask someone for help locating it and wondering what someone was thinking when they put stuff where it is.

Matter of fact, one of the local W-M's here in NH is apparently one of the stores where they test different product layouts as told me by an employee of that store who was helping me find something.

“I believe a lot of careful thought goes into store layout and product placement.“

Sometimes too much.

Thirty odd years ago I went to JC Penny to do my once a year twenty minute shopping expedition. I try nothing on. I start in one dept and walk around grabbing what I need. I know where all the various depts are. Last was shoes. I’m carrying this huge pile of clothes looking for mens shoes which I cannot seem to find. Just as I thought my wanderings are gonna attract the attention of security I spot Security hovering nearby trying to look interested in something else. So I ask a sales lady where are Men’s Shoes? She got an uh-oh sort of look on her face and said that men’s shoes was now on the second floor at the back of Ladies Lingerie. AT THE BACK! There was no way to me s shoes EXCEPT thru a forest of half naked dummies. I looked at the nearby escalator. I looked at the array of bra and panty wearing mannequins I could see from there. I looked at the sales lady. I put down the hundreds of dollars of stuff I’d intended to buy, shook my head and walked away. Twenty minutes was up.
