Why are EV’s even allowed to use dirty fossil fuel created electricity to charge their “green” vehicles? Since they don’t but motor fuel, they aren’t paying any taxes to keep the roads up. All Charging stations, including those in homes, that don’t use 100% renewable Green Energy free of Fossil Fuels, should PAY A TAX of at least $100 per KWH to keep the roads up.

RE: The demand for more EV charging stations will be tremendously diminished, when people realize that, EVs are not going to replace their trusty ICE vehicles.

HYBRIDS are the compromise that the market will adopt without government mandates. I’ve driven a Toyota Prius since 2008 and have very few problems with it. Saves on gasoline too ( Over 50 MPH ).

Why aren’t private sector companies jumping to meet demand and make a profit? A: They are waiting for taxpayer funded welfare that socializes all risk.

What we really need is decent leadership to replace the current circus in the White House and Congress.

Some people with properly functioning brains would be nice.

i believe that solar panel would have to be many times larger than the car

Lots of EVs entered the "World Solar Challenge" in Australia over the years. It is an international event for solar powered cars driving 3000 km through the Australian outback and was first run in 1987. The next event will take place in October 2023 -- there is a four-year gap between the last event and the Oct 2023 event due to COVID.

There might be some issues with marketability and practicality of the vehicles, however...

You can barely make enough solar electricity to power a car, even with extreme aerodynamics, operating in the desert at low latitudes, and with full sunshine.

Is there a EV being produced today that has solar panels on it’s roof to help it get along without the need to charge?

If you leave this baby sitting in the hot Florida sun for a few days after your trip to the senior center, it will be all ready to go for another 3-mile round trip without plugging it in. Other than that, in most places a small panel that would fit on top of a car just will not provide enough power to satisfy the needs of most people.

the ev is a dodge

a ruse

evs will not replace gas cars

the point of this exercise

is to ban gas cars, ie ban private transportation

most will not be able to afford an ev

so it will be shut up and get on the bus

many will not be able to afford the green energy to charge the ev

and even if you can afford an ev and the green energy

it may not be available

the real goal is to destroy private transportation(your freedom)

That would work in science fiction. Here’s why:

You’d need over 30 full-sized panels and several hours of sunshine to recharge you Tesla after a 1 hour commute.

I should start a Video channel for people misbehaving at what few charging stations there are while people with gas engines drive right on buy giving them the finger. A new cottage industry.

There you go. Civil disobedience, everyone should shout obscenities and honk their horn at people sitting at charging stations killing time.

Exactly, where will they get the electricity to power a million new public EV charging stations in the U.S. by 2030 to accommodate the demand?
