Unsinkable No More: China’s Hypersonic Missiles Challenge US Navy
New American Prophet ^ | June 1, 2023 | Prophecy News Watch

The researchers conducted a war game simulation, which showcased China’s military sinking the carrier fleet by launching a relentless onslaught of 24 hypersonic anti-ship missiles across 20 intense battles.

The Russians defeated the Germans with large numbers of mostly inferior weapons. Stalin said words to the effect that quantity has a quality all of its own.

My worry isn’t so much that China will actually have a capability that imperils our navy.

My worry is that China will think that it has that capability — and then do something stupid.

I would have preferred working on a defense to Hypersonics BEFORE picking a fight with China over Taiwan, but then I’m not a Neocon.

“...which showcased China’s military sinking the carrier fleet..”

Really. For a computer simulation to be that precise, the Chinese would have to have intimate knowledge of the carrier’s defense capabilities.

And would anyone think that the Chinese would ran a mock battle and admit, “Hell, we could not do a damn thing with the fleet.”

Have these superponic missiles made infantry obsolete?

How come it is never taken into account in these exercises that the enemy returns fire. At what cost does China pay for launching an attack on US aircraft carriers? And what about all the support ships and subs that travel with the carriers?

My biggest concern is that Biden would turn tail and run rather than put up a fight. What also concerns me is Biden and apparently his admirals are employees of the CCP.

Their Navy can go about 700 mi in a straight line. If any of our super carriers were struck with a missile of any type from a hostile country things would start happening that China cannot simulate on a screen. Like the movement of submarines and the launching of missiles which will more than likely have multiple reentry vehicles that would turn China into the world’s largest barbecue. Myself in particular I enjoy fried rice. The Chinese were no longer have to worry about a declining population and the world will be on fire. Dictators and despots love simulations. They love forecasting their unchecked power amongst the people they control to show how powerful they are.
A more powerful simulation would be the United States enforcing a total trade embargo of all things China and stop all food exports to China. Watching a billion Chinese people wither and starving on a television screen would be and even more powerful simulation because it wouldn’t be inanimate objects like ships being hit with missiles, it would be the culmination of thousands of years of Chinese history withering on the vine because of the dictatorial machinations of evil dictators. The ball is in their court

There is a simple question that is a predicate to any simulation or war-gaming scenario: do the Chinese have the weapons and delivery systems to strike the carriers and how do the carriers’ defenses, on board and in their supporting aircraft and vessels, stack up against any such Chinese systems? It’s best to start out, IMO, by putting as many assumptions to the side as possible and being by just focusing on the technical capabilities.

The Chinese goal is simply to deny access to the waters surrounding itself and Taiwan. Its not about invading Hawaii, controlling the Indian Ocean, or even the straights of Malacca. Its a porcupine strategy.

They can/will launch many hundreds of missiles. They only need a few to get through and hit their targets

war games always have a predetermined outcomes, using the worst case scenario. Imagining that an actual war would play out that way, is just plain foolish and hyperventilating clickbait.

Chinese internal goods, building, military equipment etc are all made by the lowest bidder using the cheapest materials but sill able to pay the highest bribes. Case in point: the Chinese homemade carrier now has a giant crack amidships on the flight deck.

I wonder if Taiwan now is so full of ChiCom infilitrators, that it’s more useful to them to keep the status quo, and use it to steal secrets and technology from the US?

That’s why it’s foolish to still depend on Taiwan for anything.

No doubt, it would make the FBI look like pikers with their multi-million dollar budget to pay thousands of "informants".

I suspect there are many moles in the government as well. Probably the ones who seem to be the most “hawkish” on China.

“My biggest concern is that Biden would turn tail and run rather than put up a fight. What also concerns me is Biden and apparently his admirals are employees of the CCP.”

You mean the leadership that was afraid to shoot down a balloon flying over US military sites? This administration will likely lose to China and give them Hawaii and maybe Seattle as reparations.

There is another factor not discussed when the article talks about the greater number of British ships defeating the technologically superior French. That was the vastly superior training and experience of the British Navy, who were constantly at sea for years, compared to the land-bound and blockaded French crews. Has the US Navy demonstrated the great efficiency and experience of its crews lately?

10-15% of Taiwan's population live in China - doing business, going to school, staying with relatives, etc...China does a lot to draw ROC citizens close to them - special visas, duty-free trade, investment benefits, direct cross-straight transport (which started long ago).

I believe China is happy with the status quo, because they indeed have many friends in Taiwan and they can play the long game. They want to keep their enemies (the independence-minded faction, and pro-US officials) isolated. They know war is risky to the CCP as well

Their goal is to prevent Taiwan from being "Ukrainized."

I bet they’ve stolen a lot of secrets based on our trust of Taiwan.
