The video would have been better if it had been sped-up, and Yakety Sax had been playing in the background.
At the end of the video the cow was lassoed, yes and the rider took the cow over to the grassy median where the cow then jumped the divider fence. I wonder what happened after that?!
Do cows sprint?
During WWII we had a couple of milk cows, “Vicki” would sometimes run away up the road. Frank, a black man (as I remember, a hardworking decent person who worked for us) would go get her back. The neighbors would let us know by phone when she was running up the road.
Did they whip her with their reins?
That was bloody insane. I don’t want to armchair quarterback there, but...when the guy on the ATV steered the animal towards the CENTER of the highway with traffic zooming by in the opposite direction...
I swore someone going the other way was going to have a head-on with that animal.
Well, it all turned out okay, but...wow.
LOL
Wranglers?? No wonder they had such a problem.
On the cattle drives, the wranglers job was to manage the cavy, the spare horse herd. They could help with the cattle in a pinch, but may or may not have been as handy.
Certainly it would help for these guys to have had a horse that was experienced in herding. A good cow pony can read the cattle and know which way to jump before the cow does, and the rider better be paying attention!
But wranglers?? Does anyone know who’s what and what that is?
