Why desantis has waited to declare he's running for president, and how he's committing campaign fraud.
Vanity

Posted on 05/21/2023 3:21:32 PM PDT by backpacker_c

Friends of ron desantis was a soft money pac created to seek donations and fund his re-election for governor.

This pac was also what desantis has planned on using, to illegally convert and use to fund his run for president.

FEC campaign laws say it is illegal to convert state level campaign donations to use in federal offices, and regulations concerning limits and fund raising for federal offices are stricter than many states.

desantis appears to have deliberately lied and hidden his intent to run for president, and delayed any announcement, in part to avoid FEC campaign laws regarding running for federal office/president.

It’s hard to tell with DeSantis as it could just as easily be people confusing him by telling him he’s 40 points down against Trump, not 40 points up, as he seems to think.

As it is, he’s looking more and more like a rerun of Jeb in 2016, with the only difference being that Jeb was never going to be a credible person to be the Republican nominee for President, whereas DeSantis still could be credible in 2028 and beyond, but ONLY if he does NOT run in 2024.

Trump told his lapdogs to attack DeSantis 24/7, so they’re taking a break from giving him a reach-around to do that every chance they get.

DeSantis' surrogates have been attacking Trump for a long time.

Show how what desantis is doing, in converting money raised for a state, non federal pac, into funds to be used in his federal presidential campaign, is not a violation of FEC or mccain feingold.

And cite regulations, not because you said so.

On the face of it “Friends of x” in no way implies “state”.
Ron’s plans to run have been well known for a long time.
Any donator obviously knows this.

There is no way fraud has occurred. Those who say otherwise sound like Russiagate liers.

Link to the state filing was provided, as well as the pac's supported candidates and name change.

FEC says there has to be clear separation between campaign funds raised for a state office, and federal offices, with any funds raised for federal offices falling under the stricter federal campaign regulations.

The point is that the laws you cite don’t exist. I can’t show you what doesn’t exist; you show what does exist. After all, you’re the one claiming that what every single presidential campaign since campaign-finance laws were created are illegal.

Early on Trump said he had a bucketful of good on Desantis. I think most sensible people have made the point...Trump should be knocking the Dems...not every Repub who throws his/her hat in the ring.

And I do think lapdogs was the message..

I never have liked primaries.

After thrashing each other the GOP will fall to the united lockstep Dems if we don’t stop this internecine fighting.

I figured desantis supporters would try to lie to everyone about this, so links to what I was posted were already included.

So yes, I already showed what exist.

Want to provide some other lies?

“The winner of the nomination will be stronger because of it.”

The last gpvernor’s election here in Louisiana, during the runoff the democrats merely replayed what the Republicans said about each other. So no, the winner is certainly not always stronger. That line just sounds good to justify DeSantis getting in to try to wound Trump.

I think a free-for-all followed by a runoff if needed is a better way and would put both parties outta business.
