American Patriot system in Kiev blown up by Kinzhal missile
youtube ^

The real version of the story

As the article notes and as others have noted, hohos are using robots to try to extinguish fires and clean up the mess at these kinzhal vs patriot sites since no humans are volunteering to go near the places ("...I got enough health problems without glowing in the dark...").....

At first Ukraine claimed to have shot down ALL of the Kinzhals, but then had to backtrack when the evidence clearly showed otherwise. Ukrainian and US propaganda has become an amateurish joke.

It is laughable that anyone is getting the “real story.” Stop presenting YOUR Russian propaganda as the “truth.” Truth is in short supply over there.

It said the Patriot fired a salvo of 30 missiles? And this is just video of a night sky, and missiles flying from miles away.

Does a Patriot HAVE that many missiles? This seems a little sketchy to me.

I believe the Russians as much as I believe Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff.

A Patriot battery has multiple launch vehicles each with multiple missiles.

“Does a Patriot HAVE that many missiles?”

Each Patriot unit has 4 missiles and Russia claims to have taken out 8 of them.

Each launcher has 4 missiles, and it takes a while to reload, I don’t remember. Initially the US said one launcher was going, but with the amount of missiles fired in that 2 minute video means there are at least 8 launchers in Kyvi

You don’t have to believe the Russians, the clownish propaganda put out by the Ukies reveals the truth. In the Ukie press conference they showed pictures of the wreckage and none of it was from a Kinzhal. They also claimed to have shot down 6 Kinzhals when Russia said it only fired 2.

The Patriot system is only effective against aircraft and is next to worthless against anything else. Even the Houthies in the Yemeni war managed to bypass the Patriot system guarding Saudi oil fields with their Iranian drones. The US lies about the abilities of the Patriot system because they want to sell it to other countries, but the reality is it sucks against anything other than aircraft.

I guess that could be. But I’m getting to the point that it’s hard to trust anything. Time will tell I suppose.

“I believe the Russians as much as I believe Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff.”

The same can be said of Ukrainians and Americans.

Wow, great video - so much detail. I totally believe the Russian version because they would never lie or be aggressive in any way.

That’s abject ignorance right there.

The Patriot system was designed ‘before’ hypersonic weapons were sent to battlefield and Raytheon has not said publicly that the is effective against a missile flying at hypersonic speeds (anything above five times the speed of sound). ....While the U.S. said that the Patriot system brought down last week’s Khinzal missile, it was not clear if that missile was traveling at hypersonic speed at the time.

So I just read that there are 8 launchers in a battery and we sent 4 batteries to Ukraine. Each set (2 launch vehicles) has a radar system truck, an antenna array truck, a crane reloader, 4-8 vehicles with missiles, and generator sets. a 2 launcher set is 6 million without missiles. Each missile is 2-3 million apiece. So this is expensive. Hope it’s worth it

I think the max is now 16 missiles per launching system (four canisters, four missiles each). I’m not sure if they can link additional launchers to a single launch controller/radar/generator.

“The damage to a Patriot air defense system following a Russian missile attack near Kyiv on Tuesday morning is minimal, three US officials tell CNN, with one official describing it as “minor” damage.

The US sent inspectors to examine the system on Tuesday after being told by Ukrainian forces that the system appeared to have been damaged, one official said.

The system itself is still operational, the officials said, and the radar component of the Patriot, one of its most important elements, was not damaged. US officials do not believe the Patriot will need to be removed from the battlefield for repairs.”

Kinzal missile are a souped up version of the standard 9K720 Iskander ballistic missile with a different motor. They cannot glide nor maneuver. Their tail fins are mostly useless.

Even China has a better prototype.
