Why did the car insurance go up so much? I figured because of hurricanes that homeowners insurance went up, but auto?

Some of the slightly less obtuse libs eventually figure out that their idea of “fixing things” doesn’t seem to help. I’m not saying they truly realize that they’re wrong and decide to change their ways, but they at least detect the stench of something not quite right and desire to get away from it.
Of course, as you mention, that usually means that they move to a less foolish place and just destroy it with the same old insanity. They’re like people who fancy themselves as “firefighters”, but keep trying to use a blowtorch and gasoline to put out the fires. Sure, even they will run from the heat once it gets intense enough, but they’ll soon be back to their arsonist ways.

Dems have every intention of turning Free Florida into dystopian California. They are rebels without a clue.
As much as I used to like that song, I always found it funny. Nearly every single “Fire “ in that song was caused by Socialism, then a Socialist writes a song saying “What, we had nothing to do with this, these things just happened”
I’ll bet he voted Democrat and contributed to this mess. However I’ll stand corrected if I am wrong.
Autos that sit in water for a while are declared a total loss by Big Insurance. You get a check for it’s depreciated value. Then BI drys out the vehicle and sends it to a dry state auto auction where they get back a significant amount of the check they sent to you. BI may lose small money on autos but it’s not much. There is no real reason for the auto premium to rise dramatically.
Not sure why, but when I shopped other companies, the rates were even higher than mine. I’m 73 with no tickets or accidents EVER and an excellent credit rating. Interestingly, the insurance on my motorhome rose only 5%.
